MilaAgent

Migrate

Move to Mila Agent from OpenClaw or Hermes

What moves: your agent's persona, what it knows about you, its memory and skills.
What stays behind: keys and sessions — you enter keys again through the safe page.
  1. 1

    Install Mila

    You need Claude Code (your own Claude plan or API key), Bun and git. Your old agent keeps working until you switch the bot.

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/shakhruz/mila-agent/releases/latest/download/get.sh | bash
    mila onboard
  2. 2

    Look first, then import

    python3 ~/mila/tools/import_agent.py openclaw --dry-run
    python3 ~/mila/tools/import_agent.py openclaw

    Or hermes; add a path if your folder is not the default. The import writes only to one new folder: ~/work/imported/<date>-openclaw/. Nothing in Mila changes yet.

  3. 3

    Read the report

    REPORT.md in that folder lists what moved, which keys to enter again, which files were skipped (a secret inside, not text, too large) and which lines tried to give orders — those stay plain data, Mila does not follow them.

  4. 4

    Bring it in with Mila, one piece at a time

    • the persona — into her role;
    • memory — one fact per file;
    • each skill — once you say «yes» (read a skill's scripts first).
  5. 5

    Changed your mind?

    python3 ~/mila/tools/import_agent.py undo <date>-openclaw

    Then back up: mila export --out ~/mila-backups — one archive without keys; mila restore brings her back on any machine and never overwrites files.

Limits.

Mila works in Telegram only — WhatsApp, Slack and Discord stay with your old agent. She runs on Claude.
